Guess Who Lindsay Lohan Might Be Playing on ‘Glee?’
Lindsay Lohan is currently in negotiations to guest star on Glee. Guess who she’ll be playing?

I’m not sure whether this should surprise no one, or whether it should surprise everyone: Guess what? Lindsay Lohan might have just landed a guest spot on Glee! Guess who she’s playing? Herself!
TVLine broke the news first yesterday, reporting that LiLo was in negotiations to guest star in one of Glee’s final episodes this season. An insider at Fox revealed to the site that if the deal is sealed, LiLo would be playing herself. In what capacity? As a celebrity judge at Nationals.
In some ways, this is a little wacky—I do realize that Lindsay attempted a music career once, but I don’t recall it being all that successful. This is why I find the idea of her playing herself as a judge at a music competition a wee bit surprising. However, at the same time, guest starring on a scripted show as herself is sort of the logical next step after an appearance on SNL, so maybe I shouldn’t really be that surprised after all. What do you think, Bettys?

If the deal does go through, Lindsay would join the likes of Josh Groban and Olivia Newton-John as celebs who have played themselves as judges; and if we broaden the category a little to include any celebrity that has ever appeared on Glee as themself in any form, she’ll also be in the same company as Britney Spears. Given how Britney has been turning her life around lately, maybe Lindsay will be able to follow in her footsteps? Maybe?
Of course, she’s still battling the reception of her SNL episode, where she was h for her limited range as a performer. But maybe it will be different with a show that isn’t recorded live. LiLo won’t have to try to hold an audience’s attention for an extended amount of time; the script, direction, and editing will shape her performance instead. As noted by the Hollywood Reporter, Lindsay hasn’t appeared in a scripted TV show since 2008, when she guest starred in a four-episode arc on Ugly Betty, so maybe this will be good for her. She’s apparently all set to end her formal probation on Thursday, so onward and upwards, eh?
Bonus: Whoopi Goldberg will also be appearing on Glee this season. She’ll be playing a professor from the New York Academy of the Dramatic Arts—Rachel (Lea Michele) and Kurt’s (Chris Colfer) dream college—who heads to Ohio to audition the kids. Now THAT’S a guest shot I can believe!
Tell us: Is LiLo appearing on Glee as herself a good idea or a terrible one?
